132nd Lord Mayor of Leeds

Councillor Stephen Holroyd is the 132nd Lord Mayor of Leeds, serving as the city’s First Citizen and civic ambassador. Elected as Councillor for the Ardsley and Robin Hood ward in 2023, he is dedicated to representing the people of Leeds and promoting the city’s diverse communities, businesses and cultural strengths.

Originally from Wakefield, Stephen has lived in Leeds since 2014. He began his career in hospitality before moving into the financial services sector, where he developed extensive experience supporting customers and building strong relationships. Alongside his civic role, he is a governor at Thorpe Primary School and has long been involved in fundraising for local causes, including completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

 

As Lord Mayor, Stephen represents Leeds at civic, community and business events across the city and beyond, championing collaboration, inclusion and opportunity. During his mayoral year, he is proud to support his chosen charities, MESMAC and St Gemma’s Hospice, raising awareness of their invaluable work and the positive impact they have on communities across Leeds.
