Deputy Lord Mayor of Bradford

Councillor Fozia Shaheen is the Deputy Lord Mayor of Bradford for 2025/26 and a dedicated public servant with a longstanding commitment to community leadership, inclusion, and public service. First elected to represent Bradford’s Toller ward in 2019, she has played an active role in local government, contributing to a range of committees focused on children and families, community wellbeing, and civic engagement. She also represents Bradford on the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority, where she serves as the Lead Member for Community Safety.

Throughout her civic career, Councillor Shaheen has championed stronger communities, equality of opportunity, and partnership working across the public and voluntary sectors. As Deputy Lord Mayor, she proudly represents the
