Mental health Lead Afrikindness & CAMHS Specialist

Dr Terrence Isaacs is a medical doctor specialising in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, with over 12 years of experience supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. His work focuses on promoting mental health awareness within Black and minority communities, drawing on both his clinical expertise and Caribbean heritage to encourage culturally informed conversations and support.

Dr Isaacs is a published author of You Are Your Biggest Critic, a spoken word poet, and Youth Leader at Chosen Church, where he is passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces for young people to thrive emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

He is currently engaging with Leeds Mental Health Services to support the development of culturally appropriate training materials aimed at enhancingmental health awareness and improving engagement with diverse communities.

Dr Isaacs also serves as the Mental Health Lead at Afrikindness, contributing to community-focused initiatives that support families, young people, and professionals.
