Getting There

Information on travelling by car, bus, train and taxi, including nearby transport links.

Finding BCC Leeds – BCC is very easy to find, the site is located just outside the city centre, near St James’ Hospital, or just off the Leeds Inner Ring Road.

Taxis – Address is Bridge Community Church, Rider Street, Leeds LS9 7BQ
Buses – There is a bus stop on Burmantofts Street directly outside the building. The following buses stop there: – 4,16,16A, 49, 50, 50A, CM3
Trains – Direct train routes connect London, Bradford, Sheffield, Wakefield and Manchester to Leeds, arriving at Leeds Railway Station on New Station Street.
High-speed train, direct train can be booked through planners like National Rail, Trainline, LNER, TransPennine Express, Cross Country.

Food & Catering

View the conference catering menu, including vegetarian, halal, and other dietary options.
Complimentary breakfast will be available on 24th October for attendees arriving between 8:30am and 9:30am, with free tea and coffee provided by Afrikindness. A tea and coffee station and pastries will also be available to purchase from the Bridge Community Church café area. For lunch, a range of caterers and food vendors will offer discounted meal options, including continental and local cuisine.

Accessibility, SEND & Additional needs

There are accessible facilities and there will be ushers available to provide support. There will be designated quiet areas available for children and adults who may need a calm, low-stimulation space to rest, regulate or take a break during the conference.

Arrival & Registration

Arrival time: – 08:30 – 09:30am Oct 24th, 2026

Participants are encouraged to arrive between 8:30 – 9:30am for complimentary breakfast and registration. Parents requiring childcare should arrive before 9:30am to register their child and secure a place. Young people attending the Employability Workshop must arrive by 9:00am, as the workshop begins promptly at 9:30am. Places will be prioritised for those who arrive on time.

Attend the Exhibition on the 28th of October to meet organisations offering support across SEND, education, health, wellbeing, safeguarding, immigration, and family services.

Parking

Parking – BCC is blessed with plenty of parking on site. When you arrive, you will be greeted by a member of the venue team and Afrikindness team who will help direct you to a parking spot. Arrive on time before 9am to get a good spot to park. Accessible parking available. Parking is FREE

Hotels and Accommodation

Travelling from outside Leeds? Explore nearby hotels and accommodation options. Bridge Community Church conference hall is just outside the main commercial area of Leeds city centre but within 15–20-minute walk or a short drive from central hotels. Childminding & Children

Childminding will be available for children aged 3 – 14 years, supported by qualified and experienced childcare professionals, with appropriate safeguarding, supervision and safety procedures in place throughout the day.

Parents must indicate during the conference registration if they require childcare.

Please bring a clearly named bag containing any essential items your child may need.

Snacks and drinks will be provided, and children will take part in a range of age-appropriate activities during the conference.

Youth Employability Workshop

Young People aged 15-21 must register in advance to attend the Youth Employability Workshop and should bring a laptop. If you do not have one, please indicate this during registration and inform us as soon as possible so provision can be arranged. Please arrive on time.

For safeguarding purposes, a parent/carer must also be registered for and attend the parent Conference.

Safeguarding & First Aid

Safeguarding and First aid support will be available throughout the conference, with designated trained professional on site to respond to any concerns, incidents or emergencies.
