Director of Communities, Environment, Housing and Health
Temitope leads a wide range of services that shape everyday life across neighbourhoods in Leeds. These include housing and homelessness services; waste, recycling and environmental services; community safety; environmental health; parks and green spaces; and regulatory services. Her role focuses on strengthening neighbourhoods, improving housing stability, and ensuring all communities feel safe, supported and proud of the places they live.
Temitope also provides strategic leadership for the city’s response to the climate emergency, environmental sustainability, the quality of Leeds’ public spaces and the city’s approach to migration.
Alongside this, she leads work to tackle poverty and inequality, strengthen community resilience, oversee the city’s Community Safety Partnership, and deepen relationships with the voluntary and community sector. A key part of her role is championing a place-based, prevention-led approach through a localities model, working with partners, communities and anchor institutions to improve outcomes and reduce inequalities across the city.She is also responsible for the public health functions of the council including promoting health and wellbeing and reducing health inequalities across the city.
