Research Team Lead Afrikindness

Modestus Okonkwo is a public health researcher and mental health support worker with a strong passion for improving community wellbeing, reducing health inequalities, and promoting culturally informed mental health awareness. He  currently holds an MSc in Applied Public Health from Teesside University and has worked across NHS, academic, and community-based projects focused on mental health, public health improvement, and health inequalities. Modestus also contributes to research and community engagement initiatives that support children, young people, and families. As a research lead for Afrikindness, he is passionate about conversations that strengthen parenting, emotional wellbeing, and healthier communities.
